Manwell Bynum is the President and CEO of Connectivity Concepts, LLC, an integrated bioinformatics product and business development firm based in Charlotte, NC at the Charlotte Research Institute. Connectivity Concepts uses the latest advances in technology and science to develop innovative solutions to improve the quality of care in the healthcare delivery system. Manwell is a corporate veteran, with over 25 years of engineering, operations, business development, government relations, and leadership experience in the Healthcare/Life Sciences field, working for blue chip companies such as: Abbott Laboratories, Warner Lambert and Pfizer. Most recently he led the spin-out of 411Fit from UNC Charlotte. Manwell is also a founding partner of Queen City Venture Partners, LLC, an investment firm based in Charlotte.

Manwell’s connections to government and community are evident through his service as a Congressional District Captain, and his experience as a speaker at the Annual Legislative Leadership conference on Capital Hill, the Congressional Black Caucus Institute’s 21st Century Council, and the White House Community Partnership Summit. Manwell is a past board director with Junior Achievement of Central Carolinas, the Board of Visitors at North Carolina A&T State University, and an American Leadership Forum Fellow. Most recently, he received the Spirit of Shaw University Award from the Johnston County Arts Council for his service to Humanity.

Manwell holds a BS degree with honors from North Carolina A&T State University, where he was a recipient of the N.C. A&T National Alumni Scholarship. He completed the Harvard Business School Association of Charlotte Management Development Program in 2004, and the Dartmouth Tuck School of Business Minority Executive Development Program in 2013. He is also a member of Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity, Inc.

Manwell and his wife Laura are the proud parents of two daughters, Cameron (13) and Gabrielle (11).
