Tony Norwood is the vice president, human resources for the Fluid Management, Material Handling and Power Tools strategic business units (SBUs) of Ingersoll Rand, a $14 billion global industrial diversified company. He serves on the SBU leadership team, the company’s HR leadership team, and was recently selected to serve on the Asia Pacific Regional Leadership Team.
Tony is a progressive HR leader with a passion for talent and organizational development. He is currently responsible for developing and managing global workforce strategies to accelerate profitable growth, operational excellence and a winning culture.
Since joining Ingersoll Rand in 2008, Tony has been serving in a variety of HR roles of increasing importance in the Industrial segment of Ingersoll Rand, and at one time was the interim HR leader for the former Industrial Technologies sector.
Prior to joining Ingersoll Rand he worked in senior and executive HR roles at Coca-Cola Bottling Co. Consolidated, Merck & Co., Inc., and one of the top corporate technology venture capital incubators, the New Ventures Group of Lucent Technologies. Tony began his career with Amoco Corporation.
Tony earned a bachelor’s of science degree in industrial and labor relations from Cornell University and a master’s degree in global HR leadership from Rutgers University.
Tony has served in numerous civic and community roles, and is a frequent speaker in professional, academic and community forums, offering thought leadership around succession planning, people practices, and employee engagement.
Tony, his wife, Yvette Mendez-Norwood, and their three daughters reside in the Charlotte area.
