Young Black Women (YBW) Leadership Alliance, created in 2016, is an outgrowth of the effective and productive Young Black Men (YBM) Leadership Alliance. The program was created to provide the same essential building blocks of success for young black women that thousands of young black men have received as participants of YBM during the last nine years. These two organizations, YBM and YBW, share the same mission: To provide a concentrated focus on leadership development, community service, and college preparation for participants in grades 9 through 12. Specifically, YBW’s vision is to empower women to be future leaders. Our goal is to prepare young women to be college, career, and life ready.
